The veterinarians at K.Vet Animal Care and their team of licensed technicians provide the very best care for your pet, whether for a surgical procedure or hospitalization of your pet. Our main focus is to guarantee safety and pain management for your pet, while utilizing the most current surgical equipment and practices. Your pet will be under constant supervision during their entire stay within our facility.
The technicians assigned to the surgical team strictly monitor multiple parameters that determine the quality and depth of anesthesia your pet is receiving including heart and respiratory rate, blood pressure, oxygen and carbon dioxide levels and body temperature. Also, it is our standard practice to place an intravenous catheter to administer fluids during and after the procedure, along with any essential emergency medications.
After surgery, our surgery technician stays with your pet until fully recovered from anesthesia. Once your pet is safely recovered, the technician will call to discuss the surgery, as well as schedule an appointment with discharge instructions. Home-care and administration of medications will be discussed at the discharge appointment.
At K. Vet Animal Care we take a TEAM approach to your pet's dental health. Dental cleanings under anestesia are required to safely and efficiently remove tartar and plaque build up on the surface of teeth as well as under the gum line. During our dental TEAM procedures, teeth are thoroughly cleaned with our state of the art dental equipment, including ultrasonic scalers, manual periodontal scalers, curettes, polishers, and a high speed dental machine for extractions as necessary. We take full mouth dental xrays before and after surgical procedures in the mouth to fully evaluate every tooth above and below the gum line. After completing the dental cleaning, we recommend the application of a periodontal sealant called Sanos, to protect the periodontal space from recurring infections for up to 6 months.
We offer periodontal disease therapy, oral sealant applications, scaling and extractions. We also have access to a dental specialist for in-house advanced dental procedures consultations including root canal therapy, reconstructive dental surgery and complicated surgical extractions as well as enamel bonding procedures.
